American Vegan Kitchen

I’ve been very quiet recently, because I’ve been spending so much time doing secret testing for a new book that’s coming out next year. I can now let you know that the book is going to be called American Vegan Kitchen and is being written by the wonderful Tami from Vegan Appetite. If you read her blog you already have an idea how great this book is going to be but honestly, you’re not even close to imagining just how great. And I can say this with authority, as I’m just about to test my 80th recipe from this book (Yes, you read that right, 80. Now you know why the blog has been so quiet).

The book is full of home cooking – comfort food that doesn’t shy of packing some hard flavour punches. There’s breakfasts, soups and stews, appetizers, main courses, sides and salads and desserts. And in each category, there are clever takes on traditional dishes combined with new ideas. Some of them will be more familiar to US readers than they were to me, but that didn’t matter at all and it was great to be introduced to new dishes.

The only thing I can’t tell you yet is the exact names of some of the dishes – but have a look at a small selection of my photos and see if you can guess! (by the way, Tami is doing the photos for the book herself and mine don’t do any justice at all to her wonderful food!). I’m also still testing for Vegan Latina, the new book by Terry Hope Romero, co-writer of Veganomicon and Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World). Check back soon for more tester teasers!
