I’ve been away for the past 2 weekends so I was really excited that Friday nights were back to normal and I could go back to testing burgers from Joni’s new burger book. The book promises to be really exciting – it’s not just burgers, but all sorts of sauces, spreads and other accompaniments too. The last 2 burgers I’ve tried have had TVP in them, but there are a wide variety of non soya burgers too. The one I chose this week was sun-dried tomato and pesto, and was based on brown rice. I’d deliberately made too much rice the night before so I’d have some leftover for the burgers.
They were my favourite burger so far. They certainly held together brilliantly and were much meatier than I expected. I don’t think I’d even have known there was rice in them! The pictures certainly don’t do them justice!
These sound like my sort of burgers, I think they look pretty good. Has the book been publishes?
